Nuevo blog sobre Ciencia, equidad de género

Dear WMST-L members,

I'm writing to let you all know that I just recently initiated
a blog that deals with engineering/science/gender equity
as well as feminism/science/engineering topics.
The blog is entitled:

Thus Spake Zuska: A Blog for All and No One

and can be found at

http://radio.weblogs.com/0147021/

An explanation of the blog title can be found in the initial blog post.

Here are the descriptions of the two main categories on the blog:

Engineering/Science/Gender Equity
This category deals with issues relating to gender equity in
engineering and science education and in the engineering and
science workforce. Broadly speaking, anything touching on
recruitment, retention, and the culture of the workplace or
the learning environment is fair game here.

Feminism/Science/Engineering
This category relates to feminist critques or analyses of
science and engineering. I discuss what might be missing
from an adequate feminist theory of science and engineering.
I address what kinds of analyses are being developed by those
doing gender equity work in engineering/science, and what
feminist insights might be missing from those analyses.

Those of you who know me well know that I am rarely shy about
speaking my mind. :) You can expect the same sort
of forthrightness in this blog.

Today might be an especially fun day to take a first look
at the blog, since I have just posted a rather (to my mind)
funny parody of Lawrence Summers's remarks of last January
regarding the supposed innate inferiority of women's
mathematical abilities. This connects to a post dealing with
U. Michigan's faculty-devlopment theater program and the
crankiness of conservatives regarding its attempts to make
science classrooms more welcoming for underrepresented groups.
